Bio

Basic Needs began its journey in 2016, when Txetxu, Shane and Juan began to get together to feed a "basic need", playing some music and making good songs. Soon, Arcadio joined the band at the end of 2016, completing the puzzle.

Right away, songs started to take form and the band realised something was happening. The way jam sessions started to produce solid songs was just an introduction to the chemistry Basic Needs found on stage. Having two lead singers in the band (Txetxu and Shane) made Basic Needs stand out from the rest of the local bands.  Juan Mayor's lead guitar licks could be classed as instant classic rock licks, always getting the biggest cheers from the crowd when playing live.  And to finish it off, Arcadio`s impeccable bass lines, influenced by his virtuoso classical guitar playing.

Gaining confidence with local support, the band went into the studio to record the EP "What If" in 2018. The single "What if" stayed in the state radio music charts for 8 weeks and stayed nº 3 for two weeks.

Soon after, Midpoint Music Group (UK Record Label) signed Basic Needs and got them into the studio to record their first album, "As It Is".

"As It Is" was recorded at Jesiisma (Galdar, Spain) and mastered by the legend Bernie Grundman at BernieGrundman Mastering in Hollywood, Los Angeles, USA.

"As It Is" is available now on all digital platforms.
